Weaving The Dots With Family Legacy

An age old tradition, formally originating from Surendra Nagar district of Gujarat (India). Tangaliya weaving is practiced by the Tangasia community requiring highly skilled labour and practice. Popularly known as “Dana Weaving”. It is a result of an extra weft weaving used to create dotted geometrical motifs inspired by the nature. Kala cotton (Gossypium herbaceum) is an indigenous strain of rain-fed ‘old world’ cotton. Kala cotton is an energy efficient and carbon neutral crop. Ampar is committed to support remote artisans in India to sustain art culture and believe in conservation.
